The Venturing Leadership Award

The Venturing Leadership Award , the highest award in Venturing, is awarded annually at the Council, Regional and National level to Venutrers and registered Venturing Adults who have made exceptional contributions to the Venturing program and who exemplify the Venturing code.

The Venturing Leadership Award is awarded by the Council at the same level as the Silver Beaver, to both Adult and Youth. Each year, nomination packets for this award are submitted to the Council Advancement Committee. Each nomination packet should contain the following: the completed nomination form, an essay about the nominee and letters of recommendation from Scouting Volunteers, Community, Church and Business leaders and associates. The nomination packets are reviewed by members of the Council Awards Committee and the only most outstanding youth and adults are chosen to receive this special recognition.

Requirements for the Award: The nominee must be registered in the Venturing Program and involved as a Venturing Adult or a Youth Ventuer for at minimum of 1 year. They are required to have held a leadership position, or an office in the Unit, District, or Council (Area, Region or National) level and have shown exceptional dedication and given outstanding leadership and Service to Venturng and to Venturers.

Completed nomination packets, including all required items, should be turned into the Council Office or Volunteer Services Desk, in a sealed envelope addressed to the Council Advancement Committee: VLA, Awards and Special Recognition. All nominations not selected in any given year are held over for consideration the next year. Updated information on a past nomination is always welcome, and should be submitted in the same manner. Under no circumstance should a nominee be informed of their nomination.
