Camp Royce Finel

Royce-Finel has been re-opened after several months of storm damage repair, thanks to a wonderful group of volunteers! Reservations may be secured by contacting Volunteer Services at 503.225.5759.

This short-term camp, formerly called Camp Cullaby, is named after two Silver Beaver recipients, in memory of John Royce of Seaside and John Finel of Astoria, long-time supporters of Scouting. It is located at the northeast end of Cullaby Lake in Warrenton, Oregon.

This is the ideal place to go canoeing with the Troop. Units can take a fifteen minute walk from the parking lot, or use a canoe to get to the camp site. If using a canoe, participants must use a PFD and leaders need to be certified on Safety Afloat. Royce-Finel has special parking considerations so please read and pass on these directions to everyone in your unit that will be attending.

Royce-Finel was heavily affected by storms in early December 2007. The camp lost several trees, many of which fell onto structures such as dining shelters and outhouses. The camp was closed for several months while repairs were made by many wonderful volunteers. The camp is now again open for camping. A few smaller service projects are available; troops are encouraged to help leave the place a little better than they found it.
