| Scouters’ Mountain Taskforce
Programs Subcommittee
Program subcommittee reported that the uses of Scouters' Mountain are 1. Cub Scout day and resident camp; 2. Training Activities; 3. Council Events; 4. Unit Camping and 5. COPE. Many events have already relocated from Scouters' Mountain and Obie due to lack of classroom space and because we are outgrowing the kitchen and eating areas.
The day camp must be kept local for the Scout families that participate. The resident camp could be moved to another location as our participants come from all over the council. The COPE course should remain local to the metro area. The warehouse and shop space could be located anywhere. Major renovations for meeting/sleeping space and technology are needed to make Chief Obie Lodge more suitable for current BSA needs.
