Camp Meriwether Camp Improvements Plan

Ocean Overlook
Meriwether's facilities struggle to deliver quality services and programs to the thousands of Scouts who attend Meriwether every year. The aging, undersized dining hall falls short of current needs. The water and septic systems need upgrading; staff "housing" is a patchwork of primitive structures decades old; the campfire bowl--site of regular outdoor ceremonies is too small and isolated for future plans; numerous program areas and campsites show years of neglect and disrepair.

To address these long overdue issues, the council has undertaken a $7.7 million facilities improvement campaign. Planned projects include new dining hall construction, health and safety upgrades, and campsite and program area renovations.
