Background Information
The Cascade Pacific Council hosts Trade-O-Rees every year at Scouters' Mountain. Every other year, this event is augmented by a memorabilia auction that benefits the Council Endowment Fund. Over the years, the memorabilia auction has contributed tens of thousands of dollars to the Endowment Fund. The Trade-O-Ree is scheduled for the first weekend in October every year.

About Ed Harris
Since 1990 Ed Harris has been the Committee Chairman for the Council Trade-O-Ree and Auction. He organized five memorabilia auctions over the last decade which has resulted in the donation of over $50,000 to the endowment fund. His legacy will continue as the family has donated much of Ed's personal memorabilia to the upcoming Trade-O-Ree Auctioin.

Edward "Ed" Harris. Mr Harris was born Nov. 4, 1925. His first exposure to Scouting was as a Boy Scout. When his oldest son asked to join a Cub Scout pack in 1958, he jumped in with both feet. He has been an active volunteer ever since then. Ed has been collecting patches in the Northwest since the early 1960's and has helped hundreds of boys understand Scouting's Heritage. He has inspired a new generation that will follow the path that he forged.

Ed was elected to the Order of the Arrow in Cole Snass Lamatai Lodge #259 and was given the Vigil Honor in Skyloo Lodge #442. He has also been rewarded with the Founders' Award, Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit, and the Helen D. Howells Memorial Award for Outstanding Commissioner Service. Ed was the second recipient of the Northwest Traders Association's "Paul Boileau Award." He attended every National Jamboree since 1964 and nearly every NOAC since 1973.

Remembrances can still be made to the Ed Harris Memorial Fund at the Cascade Pacific Council office: 2145 SW Naito Parkway, Portland, OR 97201
