Popcorn 2007
No matter if this is your first year, or your twenty-first year, Popcorn can make your entire Scout Program work. By using Popcorn as your fundraiser, you can then have the remainder of the year for Program and Fun.
To make Popcorn work for your Unit, you and your committee must endorse the Popcorn program with enthusiasm and good record keeping. Enthusiasm is the key to all successful actions. Your enthusiasm will rub off on all who come in contact with you and Popcorn.
Our Packs and Troops that have been the most successful with their popcorn sale usually have a program kickoff meeting with the parents and share the yearly Pack or Troop program and budget. That way parents can see all of the great activities planned for the year and will understand the need for their son to attain his individual selling goal that you establish for each boy.
Read the Unit Popcorn Guidebook thoroughly and then share it with the other leaders and parents in your unit. Together, you can develop a plan that is just right for your Scouts. The place to start is by sending your unit's "Popcorn Kernal" to Popcorn School. All necessary materials and supplies will be made available at the popcorn schools to help units have a successful popcorn sale. The unit Kernals need to attend one of the trainings so that units can receive extra commission credit.
If you have any questions about the Popcorn Program please email us at info@cpcbsa.org or contact your District Popcorn Kernel or District Executive.
