The Cascade Pacific Council is fortunate to have a number of outstanding properties and camping programs for our 50,000 Scouts to experience each summer.
Each camp program is managed by a camp director. Camp directors are selected in October for the following year.
It is highly desireable for a person interested in being a camp director to serve at least one season as a camp business manager. This experience will prepare them with an understanding of camp fiscal management procedures, the annual schedule, and other procedures and customs of the camping program in Cascade Pacicic Council. Candidates should expect to be asked to serve as a business manager before becoming a camp director.
Applicants must be: at least 21 years of age (preferably 25 for camp director), able to meet the joining requirements of the BSA, be familiar with the BSA program at the desiered camp, available for all pre-camp training sessions and meetings, available for the full summer camp session, have fiscal management experience, able to work with youth and adult staff and have an overwhelming desire to make camp the best it can be.
Pre-camp training and meetings include:
- Monthly camp director meetings (November through June)
- Camp Manager's Retreat (one January weekend)
- Camp Staff Interviews (first weekend in February)
- National Camp School (one week - late spring/early summer)
- Staff and staffs' parent pre-camp meeting
- Staff work weekends at camp (one spring weekend)
- Family work weekends at camp (one spring weekend)
- Pre-camp leader meetings (early June)
- Staff training meetings (set by camp director)
Each event is important to the successful operation of the camp.
Salary includes room and board while at camp and is paid during the summer camp season. Salary is determined based on experience, camp selected, and the council camp salary schedule.

Camps for which we are accepting applications may include: Baldwin, Cooper, Meriwether, Pioneer, Adventure Cove, Cub World, Gilbert Ranch, Discovery, Ireland, Lewis, Willamette Day Camp and Polaris. Applicants should list their top 3 camp preferences.
Based on the needs of the council, your qualifications, and available camp positions, you may be asked to serve at any of our council camps.
