Top Award
Board Training

April 29, 2008

Top Award Board Training provides excellent information for Eagle mentors and other unit leaders working with Scouts on their last push up the Eagle or Quartermaster trail.  This is the final time this “year” to receive training to be a chairperson for an Eagle or Quartermaster Board of Review.

When: Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Where: Woodburn LDS Building
1000 Country Club Rd.
Woodburn, OR

Cost: There is no cost and pre-registration is not required.

Schedule: Registration starts at 7 pm.
Classes start at 7:30 and run until 9 pm.

Directions: Take I-5 to exit 271 (Woodburn, Mt. Angel, Hubbard, Molalla, St. Paul, Woodburn Company Stores) Turn west at the ramp stop light.  Go through 3-4 lights that are within 5 blocks.  Wind past the fire station.  At the next light you have a school on the left and businesses on the right.  Turn Left - you are on Boones Ferry Rd.  Go past the schools.  Turn Left on Country Club Rd.  The LDS building is about 1/2 block on your left.  If you come to an intersection you are too far.

Both new certification training and re-certification training will be offered.  However, you do not have to aspire to be a board chairman to take this training.  The training also provides excellent information for Eagle mentors and other unit leaders working with Scouts on their last push up the Eagle trail.  Understanding how top award board of reviews are conducted and what is required will help any unit leader be a better mentor to their Scouts.

The “training year” runs through May, so for anyone whose certification expires May 31, 2008, this is the last opportunity to renew that certification.  Re-certification is good for two years.  Certification of new board chairmen (or chairmen whose certification has expired) is good for only one year.  The next training will not be until October 2008.
