Elements of the training include
- Rank requirement skills from Tenderfoot thru 1st Class including:
- Campsite & Fire site selection
- Outdoor Ethics
- Plant ID
- Animal ID
- Packing & Hiking
- Map & Compass
- Ropes & Knots
- Wood Tools
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) will be held in conjunction with the Cascade Pacific Council Scouts BSA Super Weekend. If you are attending with a Super Weekend unit, you should sleep and eat with that unit.
If you are attending without a host troop, you will need to provide your own sleeping accommodations.
Saturday lunch will be provided as part of the IOLS course.
All other meals will either be eaten with your host unit or, if you are not attending with a unit, with the Super Weekend and IOLS staffs in the Camp Meriwether dining hall.
All participants are expected to camp in a tent overnight Saturday evening as part of the course. Classes will start Saturday morning at 9:00AM and end Sunday at Noon.
Staff – No cost
Participant registered with their unit for Super Weekend – $17.00
Participant attending IOLS course only – $35.00
All registrations are nonrefundable.
