Never Give Up! Featuring Jonny Kim, NASA Astronaut

Presented by Whitworth University.

Hear from NASA astronaut Jonny Kim about how he “accidentally” became a Navy SEAL medic, Harvard-trained physician and NASA astronaut. Jonny will share about his journey from being the son of Korean immigrants in Los Angeles to becoming the United States’ first Korean American astronaut, and the important role resilience has played along the way.

This conversation between Jonny and Associate Professor Mark Baird (veteran and clinical psychologist) will illuminate the importance of tenacity and grit in discovering and achieving calling and vocation… no matter when or how often your life plans change. Jonny’s own journey is full of examples that show how resilience and focus can help you through changes in your career and calling. You will also see how selflessness and service drive Jonny when it comes to finding common ground with others and bringing positive change to the world.
