The NRA Home Firearm Safety Instructor Course consists of 3 pieces, the Basic Student Course (to be conducted Jan 14th at the Portland CPC Office), BIT Course (every 2 years required) and the Instructor Course. BIT (Basic Instructor Training) will take place on Feb 11th at the Portland CPC Office. Instructor candidates will be shown the NRA method of teaching the fundamentals of the Home Firearm Safety Basic Course. This is modeled by the Training Counselor during the basic course. Instructor candidates will learn the NRA instructional method in the Basic Instructor Training. Instructor candidates will learn how to apply and demonstrate the NRA instructional method during the Instructor portion of the course. NRA courses emphasize TPI, Total Participant Involvement and students will be evaluated throughout the courses. The HFS Instructor Course is a Non-Shooting Course. Cost includes training materials, food and lodging. The course fees are non-refundable. Course fees do not include credential activation with NRA.

We will start promptly at 6pm on Friday. Participants need to bring a sack dinner for Friday or eat before they arrive.

Upon registration on the NRA site, you will receive a link to CPC to pay your fee. Fees must be paid in full prior to attendance.
