Introduction to Outdoor Leader Training
Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster training is completed with IOLS.
Elements of the training include
- Rank requirement skills from Tenderfoot thru 1st Class including:
- Campsite & Fire site selection
- Outdoor Ethics
- Plant ID
- Animal ID
- Packing & Hiking
- Map & Compass
- Ropes & Knots
- Wood Tools
All participants are expected to camp in a tent overnight Saturday evening as part of the course. Classes will start Saturday morning at 9:00AM and end Sunday at 12:00PM.
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation is a two-day training event that introduces Cubmasters, Den Leaders, and other Pack leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly Pack camping. Participants will also need to complete the BALOO Prerequisite Online Training.
Participants will gain from taking this training
- The skills needed to plan a successful Cub Scout-level overnight event.
- The practical implementation of those Cub Scout-level outdoor skills.
All participants are expected to camp in a tent overnight Friday evening as part of the course.
