USA Archery Instructor Level 1 is the supervision level required to run a Scouts BSA Archery range at both the Troop and District/Council level and also what is required to serve as a Scouts BSA Merit Badge Counselor. The process to get certification is a 2 step process which requires both online coursework through USA Archery and then an in-person practical portion at the range with a USA Archery Level 2 Trainer. It is the participants responsibly to get registered and successfully complete the online portion with USA Archery as a prerequisite to attending the practical portion. Upon successfully completing the online class, participants will be issued a course completion certificate which will then need to be presented to the course instructor when registering for the in-person session at Camp Meriwether. The practical weekend fee includes food and lodging. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the fundamentals of archery and to demonstrate what you’ve learned by running a live archery range. All equipment will be provided.
