Adventure Club Hiking Challenge

SCROLL DOWN TO FIND YOUR ADVENTURE!

Welcome to the Hiking Challenge! Here’s what you need to know to get into action!

Categories: We’ve broken the challenge into three categories: GRIT, ADVENTURE, and GROWTH.  Each category gives you opportunities to challenge yourself or learn something new. Some are just plain fun while others will have a task attached to it. Pick and choose what you would like to do on each hike or just wing it!

URBAN HIKES: Traditionally when we go for a hike, we think of the great outdoors. Check out a local hike in your neighborhood, city, or town, or make up a hike of your own!

WORD/PICTURE HIKES: This hike, you’ll need an app that can track your route. Create your own route that spells out a word or creates a picture! Be creative and have fun! Make sure to save your image to turn in at the end of the challenge.

“NEW-TO-YOU” HIKES: These are any trails that you have never been on and have always wanted to check out. They can be of any length and difficulty.

“FEATURED” HIKES: The judges have picked daily categories for a “featured” hike. You will receive notice 48 hours prior to that day’s “featured” hike with the category. We encourage you to take pictures of where you explored on the day of that featured hike and post them on your social media with the hashtag #CPCHIKE

DOWNLOADS: Find what rank/category you and your scout and print out the form below (i.e. if your scout is a Tiger, you’ll want the Tiger packet. If you are participating as an adult, you’ll want the Adult packet). These packets will give you a place to keep track of your hikes and have some fun along the way!

HUNT CHALLENGE: This is a fun challenge based on your age to add a little fun to your hike. You can do the Hunt Challenge as many times as you would like.

SCORESHEET: Not all pages are required in order to complete the challenge, but it is highly encouraged to use the scoresheet at the minimum, so you have a place to mark what you accomplish. You’ll see that some of the items you can redo daily/on each hike. Other items, such as total miles, you’ll need to keep track of and add up at the end of the event.

SCOUT CHALLENGE: For any scout that is looking to work on some advancement while on the trail, here’s an opportunity to mark a few things off. Reminder: you will still need to verify with your Den Leader or Scoutmaster that you accomplished the task entirely. Participating in the Hiking Challenge does not guarantee automatic completion. The Scout Challenge is completely optional, but you’ll learn a lot along the way!
