Cub Scout Leaders
Prepare for camp with Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) training
This is typically a two-day training event that introduces Cubmasters, den leaders, other pack leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping.
Participants who complete this training course will:
- Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program.
- Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout-Level overnight activity.
- This training is required for any adult(s) who is in charge of planning a pack campout. training is an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for units interested in offering a camping component to their Pack activities.
Scouts BSA Leaders
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)
Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouts BSA Troops in order to be considered trained.
