Ready to eliminate barriers to joining ⚜️ Scouting and welcome all kinds of families from across our communities? Then the "Opening Doors: Women, Mentors, and Allies" course at the Philmont Training Center, created by our Board President Kaleen Deatherage is right for you!

This course is for any Scouting volunteer—man or woman—who serves youth and works with other Scout leaders. It’s designed to help Scouters across the nation break down barriers and create a more inclusive Scouting experience for all. 🌈

If you’re interested in fostering diversity, finding mentors and allies, or simply want to create a more welcoming environment in Scouting, this course is definitely for you. 🌄 Spotlight on Colleen Lewy! We're thrilled to highlight Colleen Lewy, adult leader from CPC's girls' Troop 5376. In a recent interview about the "Opening Doors: Women, Mentors, and Allies" course, she shared her journey into Scouting and the impact of support and encouragement. ✨

"Support and encouragement really are the “secret sauce” between staying in Scouting and leaving. But, how do we best support people who come from different backgrounds, ethnicities and experiences so that they feel valued and wanted in our program?"

One place to start is by attending Opening Doors... I attended last summer and the course materials, the frank conversations and the new friendships have been invaluable to me."
